All-New 2021 GMC Yukon for Sale in Sudbury, ON

Although this all-new 2021 GMC Yukon shares an awful lot with its GM stablemate, the Chevrolet Tahoe, it’s hard to think of a time when the two looked more different than they do now with the arrival of this new fifth-generation model.

This really is a completely redesigned version of the Yukon, which is available in this short-wheelbase form as well as in a long-wheelbase Yukon XL variant for those who need even more room inside. Everything that was already great about the previous Yukon has been ramped up even further this year to make the Yukon one of the most imposing, capable, and desirable full-size SUVs in its class.

Imposing Presence

The styling of the new Yukon borrows heavily from the GMC Sierra pickup truck it shares a platform with, and it has to be said that this look really does work incredibly well with a full-size SUV like this. The front fascia varies depending on the trim level, with the Denali going for a chrome-laden look while the AT4 goes for a more menacing blacked-out style.

The overall silhouette is still big and boxy, but it’s now quite obviously more aerodynamic with smoother lines that are as pleasing on the eye as they are an aid to performance and efficiency. If you want to arrive somewhere and make a big impression before you even set foot out of your vehicle, this is the vehicle you need.

No-Compromise Powerplants

If you think the exterior styling of the 2021 Yukon is an area of no compromise, wait until you learn what’s under the hood. You won’t find any high-revving, turbocharged four or six-cylinder gas engines here. What you will find are a couple of traditional V-8s and the prospect of a turbodiesel option somewhere down the line.

The standard engine in the 2021 GMC Yukon is a familiar 5.3-litre gas V-8 the produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, which goes to the rear or all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission that features a Traction Select System that includes tow/haul modes.
To get the more powerful engine option you’ll have to go for the range-topping Denali trim level, but you will then have a 6.2-litre V-8 at your disposal developing 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque going to all four wheels through that 10-speed automatic.

A 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbodiesel is said to be on the way for those who are interested in a diesel engine option, although it’s not available to order until later on in the new Yukon’s lifecycle.

Three Clear Options

There are three different trim levels in the GMC Yukon family, and you really don’t need a whole raft of different trims when the ones offered are as distinct from each other and as generously equipped as these three.

The entry-model in the 2021 lineup is the Yukon SLT which is only available with the 5.3-litre engine, but you do get the choice of standard rear-wheel-drive or the option of four-wheel drive. The other trim level buyers will recognise is, of course, the incredibly opulent Yukon Denali that leaves even the most demanding of buyers wanting nothing.

If you want the comfort, luxury and equipment you get with the Denali, but in a dialed-down and blacked-out style that forgoes much of the chrome in favour of increased off-road capability, the AT4 trim level is an exciting new option. As well as being equipped with a raft of standard equipment to make it sensational off-road and rugged, blacked-out styling to match its capability, the AT4 also boasts a lot of the comforts and luxuries of the Denali.

It’s not just the exterior styling that makes this all-new 2021 GMC Yukon look even bigger and more imposing than the model it replaces, and that’s because it is bigger than the fourth-generation Yukon. At almost six inches longer than its predecessor, the 2021 model now has even more legroom for passengers in all three rows of seats as well as plenty of extra cargo space too.
