Few vehicles are as flexible, capable, and configurable as a full-size, light-duty pickup truck, but the refreshed 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 takes all those attributes to new levels. With no fewer than nine trim levels, three different cabs, three bed lengths, four superb engine options, and a huge list of packages and options for further customization, the 2022 Silverado 1500 really can be any truck you want and need it to be. And by placing a factory order for your new truck, you can make sure you get every feature you need without paying extra for things you might not need.
With an incredible nine different trim levels to choose from in the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 lineup, there is a version of this truck to suit and cater to every possible light-duty application. The first model in the lineup is the aptly-named WT (Work Truck), and from there, the range goes to the Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, T Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2, and the range-topping High Country.
The LTZ is a new addition to the family for 2022, and this sensational trim brings new levels of off-road capability and fabulous style to the Silverado this year.
The engine options have been trimmed down to four this year as the base V-6 and one of the two very similar 5.3-litre V-8s have been deleted. The good news is this means the sensational 2.7-litre turbo-four that was an upgrade for lower trim levels before is now standard. It still delivers the same 310 horsepower, but available torque has been boosted by 62 lb.-ft. to a massive new total of 420 lb.-ft.
If you need something even more potent, there’s also a 5.3-litre V-8 that develops 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 6.2-litre V-8 that puts out 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. If a diesel is what you’re looking for, there’s also a 3.0-litre inline-six turbodiesel that’s rated at 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Thanks to updates to the chassis and a larger rear differential, the maximum towing capacity for the diesel has been boosted by 4,000 pounds to 13,300 pounds, which is now the same as the less fuel-efficient gas V-8.
Almost any feature you can find in a luxury sedan is available somewhere in the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado lineup, which is why placing a factory order now makes more sense than it’s ever done. As well as all the comforts and luxuries such as high-quality leather upholstery, climate control, and rear wood trim, you can also go to town with a raft of available driver-assist and safety features.
The top-of-the-line High Country trim can now be upgraded to include Super Cruise, a feature that enables hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles of divided and mapped highways in the U.S. and Canada. The driver must still keep their eyes on the road, however, or the system will automatically disengage. Super Cruise can even be used while towing, but only as long as you have the Advanced Trailering System with its eight cameras.
