When a half-ton truck isn’t quite capable enough for your needs and the application requires something bigger, tougher, and more capable, then it’s time to step up to the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD family of heavy-duty pickup trucks. There probably isn’t enough room on the internet to list the number of different ways a Silverado 2500 or 3500 HD can be configured, but it’s probably fair to say that whatever you need a truck for in Sudbury, Garson, Falconbride, Coniston, Dowling or Gogama, a factory order for a 2023 Silverado HD can get you the perfect pickup.
Long before you start to get to the nitty-gritty of things such as engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and the options list for a 2023 Silverado HD factory order there are several other things you have to consider first. First of all, you have to decide if a 2500 HD will do the job or if you should really be considering a 3500 HD, and then you have to consider cab styles, bed sizes, and then it comes to those all-important trim levels.
There are either four or five available 2500 HD trim levels, depending on whether you opt for rear or four-wheel-drive. Rear-drive models come in WT, LT, Custom, and LTZ trim levels, but if you choose four-wheel-drive there’s also the option of the range-topping High Country model. The 3500 HD is available in WT, LT and LTZ trim levels with rear-wheel-drive, while four-wheel-drive versions come in four trims with the addition of that High Country top trim. However, the 3500 HD is available in both single and dual-rear-wheel versions and with rear or four-wheel-drive.
The 2023 Silverado HD stays true to the tried and trusted heavy-duty truck convention of offering a standard V-8 and an optional turbodiesel powertrain, and in this case, the standard unit is a 6.6-litre unit that develops 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque and sends its power to the wheels through a standard six-speed automatic transmission or an available 10-speed auto.
If the standard powerplant doesn’t meet the needs of your intended application you probably need to pivot to the available 6.6-litre Duramax V-8 turbodiesel which then puts 445 horsepower and a simply monstrous 910 lb.-ft. of torque at the Silverado HD’s disposal. When properly equipped, a 2023 Silverado 3500 HD is rated to tow a maximum 16,329 kg (36,000 pounds) and the maximum payload can be as much as 3,376 kg (7,442 pounds), but no 2500 HD or 3500 HD specification is in any way a lightweight as far as payload and towing capability are concerned. With a factory order for a 2023 Chevy Silverado HD, you can build a truck that fits the exact capability you need and then you can go to town on everything else as you see fit.
It’s hard to believe and impossible to cover all the different features there are standard and available for the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD. Even in its most basic, affordable, and no-nonsense WT trim level, the Silverado HD gets standard power features, a rearview camera, climate control, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, two USB ports and more. From that point, you can have just about any feature or comfort you can imagine, from driver-assist features to leather seats and from advanced trailering tech to the latest connectivity and infotainment systems.
The Silverado HD can be specified with up to as many as 15 camera views to help the driver with hitching up, backing up, or just manoeuvring; a multi-colour 15-inch diagonal heads-up display capable of projecting your truck’s speed, navigation, and available active safety alerts onto the windshield; and then there’s the Advanced Trailering System that allows you to configure your very own customized trailer profiles to make the task of hitching up and towing as easy as possible.
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD range allows you to build just about any heavy-duty pickup truck you can imagine or need. The only limitations on what your truck can be are your imagination and your budget.
